The All Odisha Designers Association successfully organized a seminar on "Reimagining the Future: Contemporary Design and Art" on 24th August 2024 at the Odisha State Museum, Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar. The event witnessed a gathering of 103 participants from various colleges, freelancers, artisans, and weavers from different districts. The seminar featured five esteemed guest speakers who shared their valuable experiences and insights on design: 1.Surendra Kumar Patra (Textiles Design) 2. Ramshankar Sahoo (Visual Art) 3. Bianchi Sahoo (Photography) 4. Akankshya P. Satpathy (Fashion Designer) 5. Swati Mohapatra (Fashion Designer). Their talks focused on contemporary design and art, inspiring the audience to reimagine the future of design. The All Odisha Designers Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to its board members for their tireless efforts in making the seminar a success: 1. Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo 2. Bhupesh Kumar Jena 3. Artisans and weavers from different districts also joined the seminar, enriching the event with their presence. The five guest speakers were felicitated by: 1. Dr. Bhagyalipi Malla, Superintendent of OSM, Odia Language Literature & Culture Department, Govt. of Odisha 2. Eminent artist Ramhari Jena 3. Journalist and Socialist Rabi Narayan Mohanty 4. Sachikant Tripathy from RSB Foundation. The seminar was a resounding success, providing a platform for designers, artists, and artisans to come together and explore the future of design and art. The All Odisha Designers Association looks forward to organizing more such events in the future.
Seminar: "Reimagining the Future: Contemporary Design and Art"
The 2nd Cultural Festival organized by Oda at Bhawan Shriram Mandap, Barabati in Jajpur district on 16th to 17th December, 2023, was a resounding success. The event saw the participation of 500 artisans from different districts, who demonstrated their craft and exhibited their best works at the festival.The festival was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Panchanan Samal, the Secretary of Odisha Lalitkala Academy, and renowned personalities such as the former manager of Utkalika, Surendra Kumar Nanda, National awardee Maheswara Ojha, and state awardee Parsuram Behera. The guests honored the event with their valuable speeches, imparting wisdom to the young artisans and motivating them to preserve and excel in their crafts.The festival also featured captivating performances by dancers showcasing classical and folk dances of Odisha, adding cultural vibrancy to the event. During the festival, I Oda awarded the prestigious Surya Samman and Ratna Samman to the best designers and artisans, who were selected by our jury panel comprising experts from different fields of design and handicrafts.The cultural festival served as a platform for artisans to display their talent, exchange knowledge, and gain recognition for their exceptional work. It was a celebration of traditional arts and crafts, and a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. Overall, the festival was a grand success, and I Oda looks forward to continuing its support for artisans and their crafts in the future.

Exhibition at International Radio Fair -2022
The 8th International Radio Fair-2022 in Bhubaneswar was a spectacular event that provided a platform for designers to showcase their creative work. The fair buzzed with excitement as Radio jockey Praveen brought his spontaneity to the event, keeping the visitors entertained. The ODA stall was a hub of activity, with students from design institutes and fine art colleges displaying their unique products. One of the highlights of the event was the visit of the honorable veteran Ollywood actor and politician Akash Das Nayak, who brought joy and excitement to the ODA stall. Accompanied by artisan Krishna, Akash Das Nayak added to the festive atmosphere by engaging with the visitors and admiring the creativity on display. Overall, the 8th International Radio Fair-2022 in Bhubaneswar was a vibrant and dynamic event that celebrated the talents of designers and artists while offering entertainment and surprises to all who visited

On February 13th and 14th, 2020, ODA took part in the International Radio Fair to promote designers and showcase their work in the field of handicraft and textiles. The event provided a platform for designers to display their innovative designs and connect with potential customers and collaborators. ODA’s participation in the fair aimed to support and encourage the growth of the handicraft and textile industry, as well as to provide exposure for talented designers. The fair was a valuable opportunity for ODA to showcase the creativity and skill of designers, and to explore new avenues for promoting and expanding their work. Overall, the International Radio Fair was a successful event for ODA in its efforts to support and promote the designers in the field of handicraft and textiles.
The ODA organized an embroidery training program in Cuttack on November 30th, 2019. The program aimed to provide free surface ornamentation training to 30 slum ladies near the Baliyatra exhibition ground. The noble thought behind the program was to empower women through skill development. The training program included providing free materials to the participants and was conducted by designers Himanshu Sekhar Parida, Urlam Sharmeela, Ranjita Mohapatra, and Rohit Das. The women were taught various embroidery techniques and surface ornamentation methods, with the hope of enabling them to create products for sale and generate an income for themselves and their families. The program was well received by the participants and provided them with a valuable opportunity to learn a new skill. It is hoped that this initiative will continue to empower women in the community and contribute to their economic independence. Overall, the embroidery training program was a success and ODA is proud to have been able to support the women in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
Surface ornamentation Program:
On 25th December 2019, the Odisha Development Authority (ODA) organized a Sand Sculpture Exhibition at the Odisha Maritime Museum in Cuttack. The exhibition was held on the eve of Merry Christmas Day and aimed to spread a social message through the art of sand sculpting. The exhibition featured stunning and intricate sand sculptures created by talented artists, showcasing various themes and messages related to social issues and festive celebrations. The event attracted a large number of visitors, including locals and tourists, who were amazed by the creativity and craftsmanship displayed in the sculptures. The ODA’s initiative to organize the Sand Sculpture Exhibition provided a platform for artists to express their creativity and raise awareness about important social issues. The event also served as a source of entertainment and inspiration for the community, especially on the joyous occasion of Christmas. Overall, the Sand Sculpture Exhibition organized by ODA at the Odisha Maritime Museum was a successful and meaningful event that brought people together and promoted social messages through the art of sand sculpting
Sand sculpture Exhibition:
On 23rd October 2019, ODA organized a Sand sculpture Training, Demonstration and Exhibition at Nuapada Balashram in Cuttack district. Fifteen students participated in the event, where they were trained by Sculptor Himanshu Sekhar Parida. The purpose of the event was to enhance the hidden artistic skills of the orphaned children and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents in the field of sand sculpture. ODA group showed interest in the bright future of the children in this artistic field and aims to continue supporting and promoting their talents in the future. The event was a success and provided an opportunity for the children to explore their creativity and passion for sand sculpting.
Sand sculpture Training, Demonstration and Exhibition:
On 23rd October 2019, ODA organized a skill of effective communication training at Dhauli College of Arts and Crafts in Bhubaneswar. The training was conducted by designers Himanshu Sekhar Parida, Urlam Sharmeela and Rohit Das, who provided valuable insights and guidance to 50 college students. The training aimed to help students improve their communication skills for job interviews, enhance their leadership qualities for management, and develop excellent communication skills for effective leadership. The trainers emphasized the importance of effective communication in all aspects of life, and highlighted the need for leaders to be able to share knowledge and ideas with others in order to transmit a sense of enthusiasm. It was emphasized that by working on communication skills, individuals can rapidly improve the quality of every part of their lives, and that communication is a skill that can be learned. Overall, the training provided students with practical tools and techniques to enhance their communication skills, and was well received by the participants. The session is expected to have a positive impact on the professional and personal development of the students.

On October 21st, 2019, ODA organized a tree plantation program at Baliyatra Padia near the Mahanadi River in Cuttack. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including the renowned social activist Mr. Sanjay Jena and the talented multilingual artist Bhavani Prasad. Additionally, ODA designers such as Himanshu Sekhar Parida, Ranjita Mohapatra, Bhupesh Jena, and 15 other designers also attended the event. The tree plantation program aimed to promote environmental conservation and sustainability by planting trees in the Baliyatra Padia area. The presence of Mr. Sanjay Jena, a well-respected social activist, and Bhavani Prasad, a versatile artist, added significance to the event and emphasized the importance of environmental initiatives within the community. The participation of ODA artists and designers further underscored the organization’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and conservation through artistic and creative means. The tree plantation program not only contributed to the beautification of the area but also served as a demonstration of ODA’s dedication to environmental stewardship. Overall, the tree plantation program organized by ODA at Baliyatra Padia provided a platform for collaboration and community engagement, bringing together individuals who are passionate about both art and environmental sustainability. The event was a meaningful step towards promoting a greener and healthier environment for the future.

On 14th September 2019, ODA (Organization for Development of the Arts) organized a campaign to distribute art materials to 30 children living in the Berhampuriya slum area in Cuttack district. The event was attended by Bhupesh Jena, an interior designer, and the president of ODA, Himanshu Sekhar Parida. The campaign aimed to provide art materials to children in the slum area, recognizing the role of art in education and its ability to stimulate creativity and imagination in young minds. During the event, it was highlighted that art has an important role in education as it helps children to express themselves and encourages them to question the world around them. Each child was encouraged to embrace their creativity and to express themselves through art. It was emphasized that every child is a special kind of artist, breaking rules, experimenting, and having fun with their imagination. The presence of Bhupesh Jena and Himanshu Sekhar Parida at the event underscored the importance of providing opportunities for children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, to engage in artistic expression. The distribution of art materials to the children in the Berhampuriya slum area was a meaningful initiative to support their creative development and provide them with a positive outlet for self-expression. This campaign not only brought joy to the children but also recognized the value of art in their lives.
